Today, I have decided I would start my own blog to post my weight loss journey. I think this will keep me motivated, and will probably motivate others to do the same.
My journey started June 29th and I have been having much success. I started drinking green tea (Helps promote fat burning and provides EGCG, a powerful metabolism booster and anti-oxidant). I also knew that it would help detoxify my body, so that I could jump start my weight loss. I used to drink almost 4 to 5 cups of coffee a day with the added sugar (about 17 tablespoons of sugar a day; about 255 calories, plus all the added fat) and milk. I knew I didn't eat much all day, and didn't know why I was gaining so much weight. I was eating less but high fat calorie foods.
I realized I was not eating breakfast. Breakfast helps with your weight loss goal. I have researched through the internet and reading magazines, and I have learned that if you skip breakfast, your metabolic rate slows down and your blood sugar drops. So you become hungry and have less energy. Then you start snacking on high fat sweets, or you eat more servings and big portions at lunch or dinner; which adds more calories to your diet. When you eat breakfast, your body feels nourished and satisfied, this makes you not want to overeat the rest of the day.
I started with baby steps, because I couldn't do it all at the same time. I don't think I would have been able to manage to lose weight that way. So the next step was to start eating fewer calories. I started eating more vegetables, fruits, and low calorie foods during breakfast, and lunch. When I cooked dinner for my family I would eat very small portions of what I had cooked.
I started working out to Leslie Sansone's videos; I had done it before and new that her videos would not bore me. She is very motivational. With her videos you are walking but instead of going outside you do it at home anytime. I love it. She always has new ones out, but the old ones are good as well, and are very inexpensive; which you can always find at Wal-Mart or Target. I love her videos. I have different ones, so I can do something different during the week; so I won't get bored of doing the same workout every day. Because belief me...sometimes I am in the mood of doing 4 miles, and sometimes I wake up only wanting to do 1 mile. That has worked for me. I am not advertising; I just know this works for me, and won’t hurt to share with all of you. There is many other workout videos out there to choose from. Walking around the neighborhood or a park is good.
And finally, I take a multivitamin everyday in the morning after breakfast to help me with my weight loss, in case I am lacking a nutrient.
Oh, and I drink plenty of water.
Well, I belief I have summarized what I am doing for the moment. I will share more later.
One thing I do belief and want you to know is that you don't need diet pills to start a weight loss program, all you need is the will power, eat healthy, and exercise. I am living proof of it.
