Getting Back on Track

Today has been a wonderful day for me.  I woke up energized, motivated to start back on eating healthy, and working out.  I always drink green tea, so I had one cup this morning, worked out, drank my water, and ate breakfast.  I feel very well.  I will be eating a healthy lunch, and dinner.  Thinking of having a grilled chicken salad for lunch...yumo!  I am motivated to conquer the day today.  I am also motivated to lose more weight.

Thankful

Why wait until Thanksgiving to be thankful... I will be posting a Thanksgiving quote daily. - "Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life." - Northrup Christiane

Flower Arrangements I was working on for a QuinceaƱera...

These are the flower arrangements I made for a QuinceaƱera, which will be November 14, 2009.

These are the supplies, plus some arrangements I had previously made.  I had to work with 3 different types and color of vases.

This is the finished product.  I made 54 floral arrangements.  Not all are on this picture.

Baby Shower favors, gifts, and corsage I was working on...

These are some pictures of the favors, gifts, and corsage I made for Victoria's Baby Shower.

These are personalized Candy Wrappers I made for the Baby Shower and they were given out as favors.

I only made the cookies on this picture...I was supposed to decorate them, but I was not feeling very well and didn't get to finish them...I was very dissapointed.

This is the Baby Shower corsage I made for the mom to be.

Here again the mom to be with her corsage.

Ruby won on one of the games which was the Prize Is Right and she got close to the correct amount. The gifts were put in a tiny diaper holder. It was so cute!

This is the basket I made for my sister's gift to the mom to be. Victoria is my sister's BFF, and she wanted to give her a special gift. So she bought all sorts of goodies, such as clothes, toys, and her breast pump.

Gained 9 pounds...I feel bad about it...but not quiting!

I weighed myself today...and I knew I was not going to like what I saw. I am weighing 197 pounds. I have been baking cupcakes, cookies, and being busy attending parties, and with craft projects; I haven't been eating healthy. I haven't had time to exercise, and haven't had time to eat on my regular schedule. Well, I will start back on track tomorrow...I will not give up. Those 9 pounds won't make me quit.

Lost 6 Pounds This Past week

I weighed myself on Friday October 15, and the scale was showing I weighed 190 lbs.  I had lost 4 pounds since my last weigh in.   I was so excited I posted it on my Facebook page.  Then the next day which was Friday, I weighed myself again and it showed I was weighing 188 lbs.  I had lost 2 more pounds.  I had been busy getting ready for my party; I forgot to eat those three days.  I know it is not healthy, but all I ate was a piece of bread, and drank my green tea.  I won't do that again, because now I have the sniffles.  I am not feeling to good.  I guess my immune system is not as healthy as it should be.

Well My daughter and my Birthday party came out okay.  Here are some pictures so that you can see.

This is my Family.

These are the goodie bags.

These are the cupcakes I made.

This was the store bought cake

Cupcakes I made on the cupcake stand.

We had a wonderful time.  Ready for the next party next week.  My neice Briana will be turning 9 on October 26, and her party will be this weekend October 24.  I will be making another set of cupcakes.

Full of Endorphins

Today I jump started my day with my cup of green tea, breakfast, and my workout. I am full of endorphins like Leslie mentions in her video. - Did you know that the release of endorphins relieves pain, reduces stress, relieves anxiety, enhances the immune system and they postpone the aging process.

1 cup of green tea
1 piece of wheat with 1 tbs. of peanut butter
will drink plenty of water

4 mile walk

Now headed to the shower - I had a good sweat.

Feeling Tired

I was feeling very tired today; I haven't been working out for about a week, and I had not been eating healthy. I felt drained. Well I worked out to my 4 mile walk with Leslie Sansone's video, and I feel energized... Can you belief a 50 minute workout makes you feel so much better. Like Hippocrates would say "Walking is man's best medicine."

How I Started My Weight Loss Journey

Today, I have decided I would start my own blog to post my weight loss journey. I think this will keep me motivated, and will probably motivate others to do the same.

My journey started June 29th and I have been having much success. I started drinking green tea (Helps promote fat burning and provides EGCG, a powerful metabolism booster and anti-oxidant). I also knew that it would help detoxify my body, so that I could jump start my weight loss. I used to drink almost 4 to 5 cups of coffee a day with the added sugar (about 17 tablespoons of sugar a day; about 255 calories, plus all the added fat) and milk. I knew I didn't eat much all day, and didn't know why I was gaining so much weight. I was eating less but high fat calorie foods.

I realized I was not eating breakfast. Breakfast helps with your weight loss goal. I have researched through the internet and reading magazines, and I have learned that if you skip breakfast, your metabolic rate slows down and your blood sugar drops. So you become hungry and have less energy. Then you start snacking on high fat sweets, or you eat more servings and big portions at lunch or dinner; which adds more calories to your diet. When you eat breakfast, your body feels nourished and satisfied, this makes you not want to overeat the rest of the day.

I started with baby steps, because I couldn't do it all at the same time. I don't think I would have been able to manage to lose weight that way. So the next step was to start eating fewer calories. I started eating more vegetables, fruits, and low calorie foods during breakfast, and lunch. When I cooked dinner for my family I would eat very small portions of what I had cooked.

I started working out to Leslie Sansone's videos; I had done it before and new that her videos would not bore me. She is very motivational. With her videos you are walking but instead of going outside you do it at home anytime. I love it. She always has new ones out, but the old ones are good as well, and are very inexpensive; which you can always find at Wal-Mart or Target. I love her videos. I have different ones, so I can do something different during the week; so I won't get bored of doing the same workout every day. Because belief me...sometimes I am in the mood of doing 4 miles, and sometimes I wake up only wanting to do 1 mile. That has worked for me. I am not advertising; I just know this works for me, and won’t hurt to share with all of you. There is many other workout videos out there to choose from. Walking around the neighborhood or a park is good.

And finally, I take a multivitamin everyday in the morning after breakfast to help me with my weight loss, in case I am lacking a nutrient.

Oh, and I drink plenty of water.

Well, I belief I have summarized what I am doing for the moment. I will share more later.

One thing I do belief and want you to know is that you don't need diet pills to start a weight loss program, all you need is the will power, eat healthy, and exercise. I am living proof of it.
